Pinhole Images of the Sun by Plant Leaves

I noticed these solar images on my bedroom floor, behind a group of large houseplants (right image below.) The "pinholes" are formed by the small spaces between the leaves of plants in a sunny window. The clearest solar images are in the lower left of the photo on the left, but others may be seen scattered across the photo.

Pinhole images show up in some unexpected places. Years ago during a solar eclipse, I saw some really cool "banana" shaped images under a leafy tree. Returning to my apartment, I saw the same images on the kitchen floor where sunlight passed through the holes in my eyelet lace (tiny circle cut-outs) curtains.
