HOW TO GET INTO (AND USE) THE ONLINE COURSE TCN 105 LASER AND LAB SAFETY

This course is a one-credit introduction to safety in the laboratory. It covers laser safety (in depth for Laser and Fiber Optic Students), machine shop safety (in depth for Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology students), electrical, chemical and general lab safety. The course consists of nine modules (to be completed in nine weeks) followed by a short project to apply your knowledge to a school lab or industrial situation.

A short video will help you get acquainted with the online course web site. (Link is below.) Remember that we have a MANDATORY meeting before the course starts. You may attend on Thursday (date TBD) at 6 PM OR Friday (Date TBD) at 2 PM. You must attend the meeting to access the quizzes in the course site.

To get to the course home page, you need to log into myCommnet. Go go www.trcc.commnet.edu and click on the myCommnet link (upper right.) Log in with your student ID and password. To get to webCT Vista, click on the webCT logo (upper right.) You will see a list of the courses you are registered for. Click on TCN K105, Laser and Lab Safety.
